United came into the game with a 3-2 record in the 2010 Spring league season having come off a almost perfect win at Visalia last Saturday.
Yesterday They faced Cutler Orosi a team they had already met in the beginning of the season. As the Players took the field everyone on the united side seemed to be anxious to start the game. As the referee blew his whistle the first half began with Cutler orosi putting pressure on United’s defense finally they cracked the door open with a goal. Putting them up 1-0, united tried to respond with one of its own coming from foward Joel Mora but the goalie had gotten a hand on the shot. While united was trying to get back to reset Cutler Orosi got them off guard and put the ball into the back of the net making the score 2-0. United tried battling back but they weren’t scoring the opurtinites they had. With 2 minuets left in the half united’s Lalo Martinez gave a pass in front of goal to foward Louis Chavez and he wasnt going to let this oppurtunity go as he put it into the back of the net. At half the Score was Cutler Orosi (2) Porterville United (1)
As the 2nd half began tensions began to rise between the players and the referee’s. As the players of both team’s were protesting questionable calls from the referee’s. 1 Card was shown to Midfielder Daniel Hernandez for protesting a foul. The game was tight but dominated by cutler orosi. 15 minuets into the 2nd Cutler orosi took another chance and but the ball past goalkeeper Marco Vieyra. Putting separation between them and their opponents. United answered back with another goal from foward Louis Chavez netting his 2nd of the game. United seemed to be sensing a come back as Midfielder Luis Jaramillo crossed a ball in from the left side hitting teammate Daniel Hernandez in front of goal. Hernandez took a placed shot into the bottom left corner of the goal only to be blocked by one the defenders. Another wasted opportunity by the United team. As the game was reaching its final Cutler Orosi put United’s hopes of a comeback out of reach by placing a 4th goal past United Goalkeeper.
